Shackleton's Endurance Expedition

Shackleton triggered this incident by giving chief engineer, Louis Rickinson, a buzzcut. Soon, everyone on Endurance had crewcuts amid great hilarity.

The doughty James Caird survives the roughest ocean in the world, a rogue wave and a hurricane to land on the desolate side of South Georgia island.

The mountains of South Georgia and Shackleton, Worsley and Crean crossed to seek aid for their marooned companions - 30 miles in 36 hours across mountains and glaciers, through a waterfall and across a half-frozen lake.
